Job description

Kelowna General Hospital has an exciting opportunity for a Permanent Part-Time Nursing Unit Clerk to join their team in Kelowna, BC.

Position Details

This position involves working rotating days and nights: 07:30 to 15:30 and 19:30 to 07:30.

Responsibilities

In this role, you will perform a variety of clerical duties related to patient/resident care, including:

  • Prioritizing, processing, coordinating, and transcribing physicians’ orders
  • Acting as a communication link for the unit
  • Scheduling and coordinating patient/resident appointments
  • Maintaining patient/resident charts and entering data into systems such as MARS, Kardex, Careplan, or electronic health records
  • Performing clerical tasks like data entry, filing, compiling statistics, and preparing reports
  • Maintaining supply levels and meeting minutes
  • Managing timekeeping records for staff and submitting to payroll
  • Relaying messages and observing patient call signals
Application Requirements
  • A 5-minute typing test (40+ NWPM) from a recognized institution, completed within the past 48 months
  • Resume demonstrating two years of recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
  • A cover letter indicating your availability for start date, on-call, and casual work
