Job description

Your Opportunity:

As a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner, you’ll be part of a large and diverse neonatal program that offers the opportunity to work within a collaborative and highly skilled NNP team.

You’ll practice in a model that delivers 24/7 expert clinical care, supported by a wide range of resources and ongoing professional development. In addition to providing hands-on care, you'll have opportunities to contribute to program development, participate in quality improvement initiatives, and lead or support nursing research. Your role will also include the chance to facilitate training through simulations and workshops.

In this role, you will provide specialized care to premature and critically ill infants in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and intermediate care nurseries. You’ll also participate in the stabilization and management of neonates born in community hospitals. Using your advanced training, you will deliver high-level clinical care, make critical decisions, and work closely with physicians, specialists, and program staff to ensure that care is evidence-based and tailored to each infant’s needs.

Your work will extend beyond the bedside to include program optimization, educational outreach, and contributing to the advancement of neonatal nursing practices across the care zone. You'll also have the opportunity to work across all three Stollery Children’s Hospital locations (UAH, RAH and SCH), while showcasing your ability to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.

This role is perfect for a seasoned Neonatal Nurse Practitioner seeking to expand their clinical expertise and take on leadership responsibilities—all while making a lasting impact in neonatal care.

Additionally, you will utilize advanced practice nursing competencies related to Clinical Practice, Leadership and Optimizing Health Systems, Education, and Research to increase care quality, promote appropriate use of health services, and inform and influence healthcare systems.
