A leading healthcare provider in Ontario is seeking a Nurse Practitioner to join their Inpatient Mental Health Services team. The NP will collaborate with various healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive care for patients with mental health and addiction issues. This role requires strong clinical skills, a commitment to patient safety, and the ability to work effectively within interprofessional teams.
Reporting to the Manager, Inpatient Mental Health Services, the Nurse Practitioner (NP) collaborates with healthcare professionals across the hospital, CCH’s Community Addiction and Mental Health Services (CAMHS), and community providers to deliver care for patients admitted to the Inpatient Mental Health Unit (IMHU), enrolled in the transitional day program, and supports psychiatric assessments on other inpatient units.
The NP demonstrates autonomy, with the authority to communicate diagnoses, prescribe medications, and order diagnostic tests according to hospital directives and the College of Nurses. Responsibilities include assessments, diagnosis, counseling, screening, referrals, education, treatment, and follow-up. The NP acts as a liaison and consultant to healthcare providers and regional partners, providing leadership in translating knowledge into practice within nursing and related fields.
