Job summary

Sault Area Hospital is seeking a self-directed Nurse Practitioner leader to help develop and advance an addictions and mental health care program. The NP will provide innovative clinical leadership to the inter-professional team and create pathways that improve delivery of services.

The role requires proven NP experience, collaboration with physicians and system partners, and the ability to lead clinical pathways, orders, and directives within the hospital framework.

Qualifications

• Current RN (EC) registration in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
• Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification.
• Current certification in Automated External Defibrillator (AED).
• ACLS certification within 2 years.

Responsibilities

• Participates and collaborates with other health care providers in patient care.
• Assesses patients by taking history and performing physical exams to diagnose.
• Initiates orders for treatments, meds, and tests with SAH physicians and teams.
• Develops medical treatment plans and coordinates with other care providers.
