Job summary

Scarborough Health Network seeks a Clinical Neurophysiologist to lead intraoperative neuromonitoring across complex neurosurgical and orthopedic cases. You will interpret real-time neurophysiological data to help prevent deficits and communicate critical findings to the surgical team.

The role requires board certification in intraoperative monitoring, advanced education, and a track record in IONM. SHN offers a diverse, inclusive environment and exposure to cutting-edge clinical research.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in health-related science or related field, or a bachelor’s degree in a similar discipline.
• D.ABNM Diplomate in good standing (ASNM).
• 5 years of intraoperative neurophysiological monitoring experience preferred.
• CANM membership preferred; strong communication skills essential.
• Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access.

Responsibilities

• Lead intraoperative neurophysiological monitoring procedures to support high-risk surgeries.
• Interpret EEG, SEPs, MEPs, EMG, BAER, f-waves, and other modalities in real time.
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists and staff; maintain documentation.
• Ensure equipment functionality and timely reporting of faults to biomed engineering.

As a Board-Certified Intraoperative Neurophysiologist, you will perform quality neurophysiological monitoring in an effort to prevent intraoperative neurological deficits during high-risk neurosurgery and orthopedic cases. You will be responsible for clinically interpreting a variety of intraoperative neurological test modalities and communicate patient related concerns to the surgeon in real time, efficiently and accurately.Key Areas of ResponsibilityHere’s what you'll get to doPerform a variety of test modalities to map and monitor the functional and structural integrity of the spinal cord, brain, and peripheral structures in real time as the surgery progresses.
