Remote Contractor Location(s) & License(s): Yukon, Northwest Territories, Nunavut, Alberta, Quebec, New Brunswick, and/or Nova Scotia. (NPs in other provinces are welcome to apply if they are able to provide services to Yukon, Alberta, or Northwest Territories.)
Hours of work: Flexible (i.e., one day a week to full-time depending on caseload – with room to grow)
Payment: Pay per service with a 70-30 split – Rate per hour negotiable
Position Summary:
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Nurse Practitioner to join our virtual team in a contract for services position. The ideal contractor has extensive experience in treating mental health conditions, women’s health issues, chronic illness management, and experience with specific populations (i.e., rural individuals, RCMP, other first responders, veterans, etc.). This position has room for growth, and we value flexibility and independence for our contractors while maintaining a strong and trusting interdisciplinary relationship with other provider(s) at this growing clinic. The ideal candidate would have openness to acquiring multiple licenses over time to be able to serve multiple jurisdictions. This is a work from home position and a secure home office with stable internet and privacy is required.
About the Clinic:
Warrior’s Way Psychological Service is looking to add to our team! We are a fully virtual private practice based in Whitehorse Yukon. Dr. Friesen, the director and founder, currently provides psychological services to individuals across Yukon, Northwest Territories, Nunavut, Alberta, Quebec, New Brunswick, and Nova Scotia. Our mission is to provide culturally competent, ethical, intentional, effective, and efficient services to our clients. We are looking to partner with contractors who are also passionate about interdisciplinary care.
Key Responsibilities:
· Assess, diagnose, and prescribe treatment as appropriate.
· Collaborate with other providers where client consent is provided.
· Consult with the lead psychologist (director) of the clinic regularly to support each other.
· Makes referrals to specialists, allied care providers, and other resources as appropriate.
· Direct bill insurance companies where possible.
· Practice in accordance with the appropriate college(s) in which registration is held.
· Maintain individual WCB coverage in your province/territory as a contractor.
· Hold professional liability insurance for private practice.
Qualifications:
· Nurse Practitioner registration in Yukon, Alberta, Northwest Territories, Nunavut, New Brunswick, and/or Nova Scotia. Registration in another province may be acceptable if registration or interprovincial agreements exist with at least one of the above areas (ideally Alberta or Yukon).
· In good standing with college(s) in which registration is held.
· Recent relevant clinical nursing experience. Experience in primary care, mental health, community setting, or private practice is preferred.
· Minimum of 2 years experience post graduation ideal.
· Demonstrated interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
· Excellent communication skills and ability to develop strong relationships with clients and team members.
· A commitment to independent ongoing professional development.
· Proficiency in virtual health services, computers, information technology, and health care compliant privacy requirements.
· Experience with an electronics health records system is an asset.
