Job summary

Nova Scotia Health Authority is seeking a Leader Patient Flow Operations for the Western Zone at Yarmouth Regional Hospital. The role reports to the Utilization/Patient Flow Manager and focuses on safe, efficient patient care, staffing, and bed utilization coordination.

Requirements include RN with NSCN registration, 3+ years medical/surgical and 2+ years nursing management, BCLS, and strong leadership and planning skills. Shifts cover days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

• Registered or eligible for registration with the Nova Scotia College of Nursing.
• Minimum of three (3) years medical/surgical experience or equivalent in an acute care setting.
• Minimum of two (2) years’ nursing management experience.
• BCLS required; ACLS asset.
• Ability to lift, bend and stretch; strong organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Supervise nursing staff and coordinate hospital and bed utilization in the absence of hospital administration.
• Ensure staffing levels match patient census and coordinate patient flow across units.
• Collaborate with patients, families, management and providers to support high quality, safe and cost-effective care.
