Job summary

The Saskatchewan Health Authority is seeking an Occupational Health Nurse at Wascana Rehabilitation Centre in Regina to protect, promote and maintain employee health and safety.

Reporting to the Manager of Quality and Safety, the OHN will apply nursing processes, develop health programs, conduct occupational screening, and coordinate safety initiatives to meet legal and best-practice standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year experience in Occupational Health or Public Health Nursing.

• Job Description: Reporting to the Manager of Quality and Safety, the Occupational Health Nurse (OHN) is accountable for the application and adaptation of the nursing process to help protect, promote and maintain the health and safety of employees in accordance with the mission, vision and values of the Saskatchewan Health Authority. The OHN identifies, manages or eliminates risk to employees by developing and coordinating health and safety programming in compliance with legal, industry and leading practice standards. Services are based upon regional and individual needs. The OHN is knowledgeable in occupational health and safety, occupational screening, environmental health, and human relations. The OHN requires excellent communication and administration skills in the provision of occupational health services to a variety of stakeholders.
