Job Summary

The House of Sophrosyne is a Non- Profit Organization that provides a variety of services to clients who struggle with addictions. We are currently looking to fill a Contract Part Time Nurse who will support with the ongoing medical needs of clients in our 5 week - In House program.

Required:

BScN and ongoing registration to the college of nurses of Ontario. (CNO)

Diploma in nursing and ongoing registration to the college of nurses of Ontario. (CNO)

Job duties include:

1. Conducting nursing intakes to assess and identify medical fitness and client specific needs prior to admission.

2. Review of medication list and identify if there are potential medication

interactions.

3. Conduct initial (physical) medical assessment and monitor the overall health of

clients in program.

a. Acquire initial baseline vitals and check in with clients to ensure

wellbeing while in program.

b. Provide medical assessment and monitoring for all pregnant clients and

those who have recently given birth.

4. Make referrals to other service providers and resources where appropriate to

support client with medical needs

5. Provide brief first aid and surface level consultation on medical concerns raised

by clients.

6. Collaborate with OBGYN, Psychiatrist, and Pharmacist when needed

7. Provide health education to clients where needed

8. To assist with controlled acts and other nurse duties

Hours of work include:

Week 1: Monday-Friday 8AM-2PM

Week 2: Monday - Friday 8AM-1PM

Week 3: Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday 8AM-12PM

Week 4: Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday 8AM-12PM

Week 5: Monday 8AM-12PM Tuesday, Thursday, Friday 8AM-11 AM,
