Job summary

Brightshores Health System is seeking a part-time Medical Radiation Technologist (MRT(N)) in Owen Sound to perform General Nuclear Medicine and Nuclear Cardiology imaging and related procedures. You will adjust parameters for quality studies, provide patient guidance, and maintain competency per regulatory standards.

Reporting to the Manager of Medical Imaging, you will contribute to a safe workplace, adhere to provincial standards, and support multi-site coverage as needed.

Qualifications

• 3 year community college or undergraduate degree.
• Current registration with the College of Medical Radiation and Imaging Technologists of Ontario in Radiography (or eligible).
• Professional Liability Insurance.
• Current registration with the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (or eligible).
• Working knowledge of the Standards of Practice of the College of Medical Radiation and Imaging Technologists of Ontario and the Health Professionals Act.
• Current PACS experience.
• IV Certification course.
• Advanced Computer Skills.
• Proven interpersonal communication with patients and staff.
• Initiative, self-management, problem solving and accountability.
• Ability to identify process improvement opportunities and propose solutions.
• Commitment to confidentiality.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Advocates for patient safety and aligns with department values.

Responsibilities

• Perform General Nuclear Medicine and Nuclear Cardiology imaging and non-imaging procedures as per procedure manual.
• Adjust imaging parameters to ensure high-quality studies.
• Provide patient instruction before, during and after examinations.
• Maintain competency in nuclear medicine examinations and adhere to standards of practice.
• Ensure a safe working environment and multi-site coverage when required.
