Job summary

AtkinsRéalis Group in Mississauga invites a Mechanical Engineering student to join the Nuclear Engineering team as a Winter 2027 co-op. You will support design, documentation, and project activities across nuclear and conventional mechanical systems, with opportunities for hands-on learning and multidisciplinary collaboration.

Disponible for 4, 8, 12, or 16-month terms starting January 2027; hybrid work culture and comprehensive development opportunities are offered.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in Mechanical Engineering at a Canadian university, college, or polytechnic.
• Ability to apply mechanical engineering fundamentals to practical solutions.
• Understanding of mechanical systems, drawings and technical documentation.
• Proficiency with Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Strong organizational skills and multitasking in a dynamic environment.
• Familiarity with MATLAB, MathCAD, AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Inventor, Revit or similar is an asset.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Support Engineers, Designers, Discipline Leads, and Engineering Managers in day-to-day activities.
• Assist in development and assembly of engineering deliverables for nuclear and conventional mechanical systems.
• Support mechanical design activities, equipment assessments, and technical documentation.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams on task scopes and schedules.
• Attend technical meetings to support project delivery.
• Review engineering drawings, specifications, calculations and project docs.
• Collaborate with the nuclear team to support workflow and RFIs.
