Job summary

Kiewit Nuclear Canada is seeking a Civil Quality Control Inspector for our Darlington, ON project. The role reports to the Quality Manager and involves in-process and final inspections to ensure construction meets technical and quality requirements.

The successful candidate will have a Civil Engineering Technology Diploma or equivalent, 1–3 years in heavy civil construction, knowledge of CSA/NV standards, and strong MS Office skills. Relocation or local(Oshawa) candidates encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• Civil Engineering Technology Diploma or equivalent; combination of education and industry experience considered.
• 1-3 years’ experience in heavy civil and/or infrastructure construction.
• Experience with inspection and testing of concrete.
• Knowledge of CSA A23.1, A23.2, N291, N287 standards and other applicable building regulations.
• ACI/CCIL certification (preferred).
• CSA W178 Level 1 or 2 Visual Welding Inspection (preferred).
• Self-directed, motivated team player who thrives in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficient with MS Office Suite.
• Understands design and construction requirements.

Responsibilities

• Perform quality inspections and testing activities per the Inspection and Test Plan.
• Complete all associated records to document the status and results of inspections.
• Interpret technical drawings for civil works.
• Verify that material meets Purchase Order, Code, Standards requirements.
• Initiate non-conformance reports when required.
• Identify and segregate nonconforming items.
• Collaborate in development and maintenance of project-specific procedures and work instructions.
• Interface with internal or external organizations (customers, suppliers, subcontractors, regulators).
• Verify that calibrated equipment is used during inspections.
• Support preparation of History File or History Docket.
• Promote safety awareness and comply with safety rules.
