Job summary

ParaMed Home Health Care is seeking a NSWOC RN to enhance nursing practice and patient care in alignment with governing bodies and internal standards. A mandatory Wound Certificate from a 1-year university program is required.

The role involves overseeing nursing staff and developing care plans in a community/home care setting. Responsibilities include supervising staff, ensuring care plans meet standards, and collaborating with physicians.

Qualifications

  • Current certificate of competence from the Approved Institutions for the province.
  • Registered/eligible for registration with the Approved Professional Institutions for the province.
  • Previous experience in community or long-term care with knowledge of duties.
  • Ability to work individually and as part of a team, to prioritize tasks in order of urgency.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor performance and refer issues to the Director of Care.

A mandatory requirement for this position is a Wound Certificate acquired from a 1yr University Program.

For both Non- Union and Union jobs, the below description will apply:

Responsibilities
  • Ensuring resident / patient care is provided with established nursing standards and principles, physicians’ orders and administrative policies
  • Assisting in the assessment and monitoring of residents / patients while working to develop, implement, review and evaluate resident/patient care plans
  • Managing and evaluating the work of nursing and personal care staff assigned to the unit, including orientations and other supervisory duties
  • Monitoring performance, conducting performance appraisals and referring problems to the Director of Care
  • Provide direction to the nursing department in the absence of the Director of Care
Qualifications
  • Appropriate current certificate of competence from the Approved Institutions for the province
  • Registered/eligible for registration with the Approved Professional Institutions for the province
  • Previous similar experience in Community or long-term care, with comprehensive knowledge of duties
  • Ability to work individually and as part of a team, to prioritize tasks in order of urgency
  • Excellent communication (verbal and written) and comprehension skills
  • Developed creative problem-solving skills to look at the “big picture”
