Job summary

Hexagon’s Autonomous Solutions seeks an NPI Supply Chain Project Coordinator to accelerate time-to-market for new products. You will lead cross-functional teams, manage procurement and scheduling, and ensure material readiness for development, prototype, and early production while coordinating with design engineering, SQE, and production staff.

You will track KPIs, manage data, and help drive continuous improvement across the supply chain.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of procurement, planning, and sourcing experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong analytical, business acumen, and negotiation skills when dealing with functions (Engineering, Supply Chain, Suppliers, Operations).

Responsibilities

• Lead cross-functional NPI meetings as Operations representative to track progress, timelines, deliverables, and action items.
• Coordinate information flow with project management, engineering, and supply chain to identify and remove roadblocks.
• Manage tactical purchasing with designers and project managers to acquire material for development, prototype, and early production.
• Oversee vendor material escalations, sourcing, and advise on new supplier requirements.
• Report KPI performance and maintain data in systems (SOWs, ECOs) and ERP.
• Support RFQs with SQE and supply chain for new products and review quotations.
• Develop and maintain an accurate NPI build plan (Proto/Pilot) and communicate risks and delays.
• Communicate MPE Deliverable progress and collaborate to address risks.
• Contribute to MPE Manufacturing Plan with supply chain information.
• Coordinate PCBAs and product-level builds at contract manufacturers and shop floor to maintain a clear to build status.
• Maintain product forecast information with SCM to ensure material is purchased for planned builds.
• Organize and manage transfer of projects from NPI to Sustaining (Production release) ensuring steps are completed.

Overview

Hexagon’s Autonomous Solutions is looking for an NPI Supply Chain Project Coordinator to join our high-tech engineering and manufacturing company that is committed to customer service excellence and continuous improvement.Reporting to the Team Lead, Supply Chain Project Coordination, you will join our Supply Chain team in the Operations department at Hexagon Positioning+ division, where we are known for our best practices and commitment to continuous improvement. You will be responsible to accelerate time to market of highly manufacturable and sustainable products. To achieve this, you will work effectively across multiple functions to develop and execute a practical NPI plan that supports overall project schedule while identifying and resolving critical schedule, material and fabrication risks. Timely communication regarding schedule, cost and quality are essential. You will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team of product managers, design engineers, project management, supply chain professionals, SQE team, MPE team, production staff, and external suppliers to prepare manufacturing to receive the new product. Your customers are chief engineers, project managers and operations in a world leading Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) design facility.

Responsibilities

• Lead cross-functional meetings, such as the weekly NPI meetings per project as representative of Operations team with the purpose of tracking progress, review timelines, establishing deliverables, meeting minutes and following up on action items
• Facilitate the flow of information and collaboration with project management, engineering and supply chain by following the NPI processes and provide guidance to identify supply chain risks and help remove roadblocks
• Manage supply chain tactical purchasing activities with buyers in coordination with design engineering, and project management team to acquire material in a cost-effective and timely manner for development, prototype, and early production requirements, including risk purchases
• Manage vendor material escalations, sourcing, and provide input to SQE and supply chain about new requirements that could trigger the search of new suppliers
• Report on performance metrics (KPI’s), and help coordinate, monitor, and maintain accuracy in our data management system (SOWs, ECO’s) and ERP system
• Read basic information on data sets, drawing specs, bills of materials.
• In coordination with SQE team and Supply chain, support RFQs to suppliers for new products, participate in the review of the quotations and trigger additional quoting exercises throughout the development stages of the project
• In collaboration with project manager and supply chain, develop and maintain an accurate NPI build plan (Proto and Pilot) updated weekly and communicate potential risks, and report on status and delays
• Effectively communicate MPE Deliverable progress and work collaboratively with team to address risks
• Contribute to MPE Manufacturing Plan with information related to supply chain
• Coordinate PCBAs and product level Prototype and Pilot builds at contract manufacturers and on Novatel’s shop floor providing a material “clear to build” status.
• Maintain product forecast information and work effectively with Supply Chain Management (SCM) to ensure all necessary material is purchased to support planned product builds both at Electronic Manufacturing Services (EMS) and NovAtel or other Positioning + sites.
• Responsible for organizing and managing the transfer of a project from NPI to Sustaining (Production release) by assuring all steps are completed and released in our systems for Production Gate release.

Qualifications

Must-Have:

• Minimum 5 years’ experience of procurement, planning, and sourcing in a similar role within a manufacturing environment
• Strong analytical skills, business acumen and negotiating skills in dealing with supporting functions (Engineering, Supply Chain, Suppliers and Operations)
• Proven ability to work independently, self-motivated, and able to prioritize, multitask in a fast-paced environment
• Well organized with excellent written and oral communication skills and keen attention to detail
• Computer skills (MS Office, MS Project, Excel)
• Experience working in a continuous improvement environment
