Job summary

Teledyne DALSA, a Teledyne Technologies company, seeks an NPI Specialist to transition imaging products from development to manufacturing. You will lead cross-functional teams, define manufacturability strategies, and manage product transfers, upgrades and changes to ensure readiness, quality, and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree or college diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing or Industrial Technology.
• Minimum 3 years experience in new product introduction in a high-tech manufacturing environment.
• Familiarity with design for manufacturability balancing cost, serviceability, manufacturability, reliability, assembly time and quality.
• Excellent cross-functional team leadership skills.
• Strong analytical skills, familiar with FMEA and statistical programs.
• Excellent verbal and written communication for a technical audience.

Responsibilities

• Works closely with the project team during development of new products and manufacturing processes.
• Defines and evaluates best processes with R&D for new products and transfers into production line.
• Manages design for manufacturability for product designs and looks for manufacturability and efficiency opportunities.
• Develops product transfer plans and schedules, product upgrades, and engineering changes.
• Documents manufacturing processes, inspection processes, configuration management, and bill of materials.
• Writes assembly procedures, protocols, and work instructions.
• Reviews new processes to reduce costs, improve quality and sustainability.
• Drives process development to optimize flow, reduce variability and improve capability.
• Initiates process-, equipment- and efficiency actions to meet yield and cost targets.
• Leads pilot builds and production ramp-up.
• Drives Production Readiness Reviews (PRRs).
• Owns manufacturing risk assessments (PFMEA/SPC/CpK).
• Manages engineering changes and configuration control.
• Collaborates with suppliers and contract manufacturers for readiness.

We are seeking a highly talented and motivated New Product Introduction (NPI) Specialist to join our high-end scanning products R&D team. In this role, you will play a key part in bringing world-class imaging products from development into manufacturing.

The ideal candidate is a proactive problem solver with strong troubleshooting abilities, deep knowledge of manufacturing processes, and excellent communication skills. You thrive in a collaborative environment, enjoy tackling complex challenges, and take initiative to drive successful product introductions while ensuring manufacturing readiness, quality, and operational excellence.

What You Will Do:

• Works closely with the project team during the development of new products and manufacturing processes.
• During development phase, defines and evaluates best processes with the R&D team for new products and transfers these into production line.
• Manages the design for manufacturability for product designs, identifying opportunities for manufacturability and efficiency.
• Works with project and design team, developing product transfer plans and schedules, product upgrades, and engineering changes.
• Provides consistent and accurate documentation of manufacturing processes, inspection processes, product configuration management, and bill of material.
• Writes assembly procedures / protocols / work instructions.
• Reviews and evaluates new, innovative processes, and methods to reduce costs, improve quality, efficiency, and sustainability.
• Drives process development to optimize efficient process flow, reduce process or product variability and improve process capability.
• Initiates process-, equipment- and efficiency actions to improve yield, cost and supports production till the expected yield and cost targets are achieved.
• Lead pilot builds and production ramp-up.
• Drive Production Readiness Reviews (PRRs).
• Own manufacturing risk assessments (PFMEA/SPC/CpK).
• Manage engineering changes and configuration control.
• Work directly with suppliers and contract manufacturers to ensure manufacturing readiness.

What You Need:

Salary Range:

$62,900.00-$83,900.000

The anticipated salary range listed for this role is only an estimate. Actual compensation for successful candidates is carefully determined based on several factors including, but not limited to, location, local regulations (such as minimum wage), education/training, work experience, key skills, and type of position.
