Teledyne Digital Imaging in Waterloo is seeking a Sensor Characterization Specialist to develop and maintain test hardware and software for CMOS image sensors, under direction from Sensor Leads.

You will perform electro-optical characterization, explore operating conditions, document results, and help integrate sensors into cameras or imaging systems, mentoring junior engineers. A physics/engineering degree is required with strong sensor and scripting experience.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Science (Physics) or Engineering (Computer, Electrical, etc) required.
  • Exposure to image sensors, imaging systems, or image analysis preferred.
  • Proficiency in Python3, MATLAB and MS Office.

Responsibilities

  • Under the guidance of a Sensor Lead, participate in the first power-up and bring up of new CMOS Image Sensor designs
  • Perform full electro-optical characterization of new and existing CMOS Image Sensors, or guide junior test engineers in performing this characterization
  • Explore operational phase space to determine optimum operating conditions for best performance
  • Record, analyze, and document test results, and report to Sensor Lead
  • Develop new test software and hardware for the purpose of characterizing CMOS Image Sensors
  • Maintain existing software codebase and modify for re-use as appropriate
  • Act as technical contact to support integration of CMOS Image Sensors into cameras or other imaging systems
  • Perform root cause analyses of field failures and customer complaints
  • Develop new operating modes as required by market

As part of our continuing growth in this high technology market, Teledyne Digital Imaging is recruiting for a Sensor Characterization Specialist in Waterloo.

The Characterization Specialist is responsible for developing, maintaining, and executing the test hardware and software infrastructure to characterize and optimize CMOS Image Sensors with direction from Sensor Leads, and may provide supervision and mentoring to junior test engineers.

What You Need:

Preferred Skills/Experience:
  • Exposure to image sensors, imaging systems, or image analysis
  • Python3, MS Office, MATLAB
  • Familiarity with electronics lab equipment - oscilloscopes, digital multimeters, power supplies, etc
  • Knowledge of Sapera Image Acquisition and Control SDK FPGA and Microprocessor programming

Salary Range:

Salary Range: $62,900.00-$83,900.000 The anticipated salary range listed for this role is only an estimate. Actual compensation for successful candidates is carefully determined based on several factors including, but not limited to, location, local regulations (such as minimum wage), education/training, work experience, key skills, and type of position.
