Job summary

Nunavut Housing Corporation is seeking multiple full-time Housing Managers located in various Nunavut communities. You will lead Local Housing Organizations, manage assets, budgets and ensure culturally responsive housing services to communities.

Reporting to the LHO Board, you will supervise staff, manage finances, and engage with partners to support housing needs. A post-secondary degree plus 2 years in property management and 3 years in supervision are required.

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education in community or public administration, business administration, social sciences, or related field.
  • 2 years’ experience in property management and/or housing maintenance.
  • At least 3 years of supervisory or management experience.
  • Strong financial management skills including budgeting and bookkeeping.
  • Valid driver’s license is required.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise LHO staff across maintenance, tenant relations, administration, and board support.
  • Manage and maintain public housing assets within budget via preventative and on-demand maintenance.
  • Oversee budgeting, bookkeeping, payroll monitoring, invoices, and financial reporting.
  • Develop annual operating and capital budgets and monitor expenditures.
  • Ensure compliance with Management Agreement and Nunavut Housing Corporation programs.
  • Ensure fair allocation of housing units per approved policies and priority systems.
  • Oversee tenant relations including applications, tenancy agreements, rent assessments, enforcement, and dispute management.
  • Advise the Board on operational, financial, policy, and housing allocation matters.
  • Prepare meeting minutes and required documentation for the Board.
  • Manage personnel functions including performance, leave, attendance, and staff development.
  • Engage with community and external partners to support housing needs and organizational reputation.
