Astro Hill / Nunastar Properties in Iqaluit, NU seeks an experienced Operations Manager to oversee building operations across a mixed property portfolio. You will lead a team of 15–20 staff, supervise maintenance, and drive preventative maintenance programs in a remote northern setting.

The role requires a Class 4 Power Engineering certificate and strong technical knowledge of boilers, glycol heating, plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems. Relocation and housing support are provided.

Qualifications

• Class 4 Power Engineering Certificate is required.
• Class 3 Power Engineering Certificate is preferred.
• 6+ years in building operations, facilities management, or property leadership.
• Strong knowledge of boiler systems, glycol heating, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical operations.
• Experience leading maintenance or facilities teams.
• Experience with preventative maintenance planning and work-order systems.
• Willing to relocate to Iqaluit, NU.

Responsabilités

• Oversee day-to-day building operations across residential and commercial properties.
• Lead, mentor, and support maintenance and facilities personnel.
• Conduct regular property inspections and mechanical assessments.
• Manage boiler plants, glycol-heated systems, plumbing, electrical, and HVAC infrastructure.
• Develop, implement, and monitor preventative maintenance programs.
• Coordinate service requests, repairs, and operational priorities.
• Ensure safety, environmental, and operational standards compliance.
• Support capital projects, renovations, and contractor coordination.
• Monitor budgets, inventory, and resource allocation.
• Build relationships with tenants, vendors, and internal teams.
• Participate in on-call rotations and after-hours emergencies.
