Job summary

Elk Island Public Schools is seeking a temporary part-time Noon Supervisor (1 hour per day) at Lakeland Ridge in Sherwood Park, AB. The role involves supervising students during lunch and playtime under the direction of the Principal/Assistant Principal.

Responsibilities include greeting students, monitoring behaviour, and ensuring safety, with training provided. Availability for short notice is an asset and the position runs August 31, 2026 to June 28, 2027.

Responsibilities

• Supervision During Eating Time: Greet students in lunchroom when lunch hour starts; Watch students in different classrooms while they eat; Help monitor behaviour and encourage positive interaction between students; Encourage students to follow classroom lunch rules and handle minor infractions; Make sure students dispose of garbage in receptacles.
• Supervision During Playtime: Ensure that all students have gone outside within a reasonable time; Supervise and ensure student safety within an assigned area of the playground; Carry the first aid fanny-pack at all times and administers minor first aid; Deal with minor behaviour problems and refer serious behaviour problems to the principal or assistant principal.

Elk Island Public Schools is recruiting a temporary part-time Noon Supervisor (1 hour per day) at Lakeland Ridge.

Lakeland Ridge serves approximately 700 students in kindergarten to Grade 9, with 33 teaching staff and 10 support staff. The school is located in Sherwood Park, AB.

Lakeland Ridge focuses on academic excellence, technology, fitness and recreation, art, and community involvement. The school's motto, "Pride in our Pack," is demonstrated daily through strong literacy programs and initiatives, an excellent character education program, leadership and peer support opportunities, athletics, and extracurricular activities such as the Linking Generations program.

Noon Hour Supervisors' main responsibility is to provide supervision to children during the lunch hour under the direction of the Principal/Assistant Principal.

• Commencing August 31, 2026
• Ending June 28, 2027
• Schedule will be one (1) hour each day, five (5) hours per week, Monday to Friday
• Being available on short notice would be an asset
