Job summary

Mint Health + Drugs is seeking a Registered Pharmacy Technician with a passion for non-sterile compounding to join our team. You will contribute to precision compounding, calculations, and quality control, collaborating with the Compounding Pharmacist to deliver customized medications.

The role emphasizes accuracy, adherence to procedures, and a proactive approach to improving compounding efficiency while ensuring patient safety and compliance with Mint policies.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Pharmacy Technician program
• Current registration and practice permit as a Pharmacy Technician with the Alberta College of Pharmacy
• Strong mathematical and pharmaceutical calculation skills
• Exceptional accuracy and attention to detail
• Strong organizational and time-management skills
• Ability to follow detailed procedures consistently
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain accuracy
• Ability to work independently while collaborating with pharmacists and the broader pharmacy team
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Commitment to patient safety, confidentiality and quality

Responsibilities

• Prepare customized non-sterile compounded medications according to prescriptions
• Accurately weigh, measure, mix and prepare ingredients
• Perform pharmaceutical calculations within scope
• Supervise assistants in preparing capsules, creams, ointments, gels, and other dosage forms
• Prepare equipment, ingredients and packaging
• Complete compounding records and documentation
• Perform final checks on completed preparations
• Identify discrepancies and escalate quality concerns
• Identify workflow improvements to enhance safety, accuracy and efficiency
