Qualifications

  • Secondary school diploma or equivalent.
  • Technical training or certificate is an asset.
  • Experience operating machinery in food, beverage or manufacturing preferred.
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices, HACCP-based procedures.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods, lift moderate loads, and work in temperature-controlled areas.
  • Basic numeracy and ability to read production schedules, labels, gauges and simple technical documents.

Responsibilities

  • Set up, operate and monitor processing machinery to maintain production flow and meet output targets.
  • Adjust machine settings, feeders and conveyors to ensure products meet specifications and reduce waste and downtime.
  • Perform routine quality inspections of raw materials, in-process items and finished products to identify defects and ensure compliance with standards.
  • Maintain accurate production records including output counts, operating parameters and incident reports; communicate discrepancies to supervision.
  • Carry out cleaning, sanitation and basic preventive maintenance tasks on equipment according to established procedures and schedules.
  • Follow safety, hygiene and operating procedures, participate in team meetings and support continuous improvement initiatives.

Main Duties

  • Adjust machine settings, feeders and conveyors to ensure products meet specifications and to reduce waste and downtime.
  • Perform routine quality inspections of raw materials, in-process items and finished products to identify defects and ensure compliance with standards.
  • Maintain accurate production records including output counts, operating parameters and incident reports; communicate discrepancies to supervision.

Requirements

  • Previous experience operating machinery in food, beverage or manufacturing environments preferred.

  • Ability to perform physical tasks including standing for extended periods, lifting moderate loads and working in temperature-controlled areas.
  • Basic numeracy and ability to read production schedules, labels, gauges and simple technical documents.
  • Flexible availability to work rotating shifts, overtime or weekends as required by production demands.
