Gtrworldwide is seeking a Laboratory Support Professional to provide technical support for diagnostic testing and specimen management. You will perform routine specimen collection, processing, and documentation while upholding laboratory safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities include venipuncture, specimen processing, instrument maintenance, accurate LIS entries, and adherence to infection control practices in a clinical setting.

Qualifications

• Completion of a recognized medical laboratory assistant program, clinical laboratory technician program, or equivalent post-secondary education.
• Demonstrated experience in specimen collection and processing in a clinical laboratory or healthcare setting.
• Competence in phlebotomy and safe handling of biological specimens.
• Working knowledge of laboratory procedures, quality control practices, and infection prevention protocols.

Main Duties

• Collect patient specimens using venipuncture, capillary puncture, urine collection, and other approved methods while verifying patient identity and labels.
• Process, prepare and aliquot specimens for testing, centrifuge samples, and prepare slides or media as required.
• Operate, calibrate and perform routine maintenance on laboratory instruments and equipment according to standard operating procedures.
• Perform quality control checks, document results, and report any discrepancies to supervisory staff.
• Enter and maintain accurate specimen and test information in laboratory information systems and paper records.
• Adhere to infection prevention and control practices, handle biohazardous materials safely, and maintain a clean work environment.

Requirements
