Job summary

CMHA Toronto is seeking a part-time Transitional Housing Worker for Carlton House in Toronto. The role supports refugees and newcomers with mental health and addictions needs, coordinating with a team including a Manager and Case Managers to ensure access to services.

Shifts include day, evening, and overnight, with night hours on Fridays and Saturdays. The position requires a college diploma in Social Work/Social Sciences or related field, and at least two years of direct service experience.

Qualifications

• Minimum college diploma in Social Work/Social Sciences, Recreation/Rehabilitation Therapy or a combination of educational and related work/life experience.
• Two years’ direct service delivery experience in settlement/community work for adults with mental health/addiction needs.
• Experience with refugees and settlement challenges is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Provide on-site mental health and addictions support and crisis prevention/intervention.
• Deliver settlement navigation, information, orientation, and shelter support at Carlton House.
• Facilitate group and individual sessions for skill-building and life skills training.
• Develop outreach plans to promote programs and services and coordinate with community supports.
