Job summary

Humber River Health in Toronto is seeking a part-time Supervisor to join our Support Services team at the Wilson Site, with pre-scheduled night shifts 11pm to 7am on Fridays and Saturdays. The role oversees day-to-day operations across housekeeping, portering, or laundry, ensures safety standards, and manages staff through unionized and non-union environments.

A Diploma or degree in Health Administration or Environmental Services is preferred, with at least 3 years leadership in healthcare

Qualifications

• Ontario Secondary School Diploma or equivalent required.
• College Diploma or Undergraduate degree in Health Administration, Environmental Services, or related field preferred.
• Certification in Healthcare Environmental Services (e.g., CHESP) preferred.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in a healthcare environmental services leadership role.
• Knowledge of infection prevention/control standards.
• Budgeting and resource planning experience.

Responsibilities

• Oversees day-to-day operations across housekeeping, portering, or laundry.
• Develops and implements department policies and procedures.
• Supervises unionized and non-union staff, including hiring, performance reviews, discipline, training and development.
• Facilitates return-to-work programs and leads team meetings.
• Assist in staff scheduling based on skills and experience.
• Strengthens teamwork within the support services team and with Command Centre staff.
• Monitors quality assurance programs and ensures regulatory compliance.
• Performs duties in line with Humber River Health's mission and values.
