Job summary

New School Foods in Toronto is seeking a Night Supervisor to lead a Production team on our 10pm–6am shift. You will oversee Production Operators, enforce safety practices, and maintain a clean, compliant workspace.

You will identify opportunities for process improvements, assist with weighing ingredients, operating machinery, and packaging tasks, and escalate issues to management as needed. This onsite role offers a competitive CAD salary and contributes to our mission of sustainable food.

Qualifications

• 2+ years supervising production teams.
• Experience on small production or pilot line preferred.
• Knowledge of cleaning chemicals used in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to lift and move some small equipment weighing up to 40 lbs.
• Strong attention to detail and effective communication.

Responsibilities

• Oversee a team of Production Operators as they complete production tasks.

• Maintain a clean and organized production space, including offices, common areas, and laboratory facilities.
• Adhere to and enforce cleanliness practices outlined by company policies and regulatory guidelines.
• Proactively identify opportunities for process improvements to enhance cleanliness and efficiency.
• Complete various steps of our production process, including weighing and measuring ingredients, operating machinery, and supporting packaging tasks.
• Implement changes to the production line as directed by management.
• Set up small appliances on the production line and ensure they are functioning correctly.
• Problem-solve any issues that arise during production, escalating to management as needed.
• Support quality initiatives, following guidelines and protocols to ensure product integrity.

As a Night Supervisor, you will:

• Experience working on a small production or pilot line is beneficial.
• Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and supplies used in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to lift and move some small equipment weighing up to 40 lbs.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions accurately.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively and collaboratively as part of a team.
