Job summary

LifeLabs Medical Laboratory Services is seeking detail-oriented Medical Laboratory Technologists for full-time graveyard shifts in Burnaby. You will perform clinical testing, maintain analyzers, and ensure timely, accurate patient results across laboratory disciplines while upholding safety and regulatory standards.

The role requires CAMLPR or CSMLS certification with recent lab experience; strong analytical, problem-solving, and MS Windows skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Registration through CAMLPR pathways or CSMLS certification.
• Recent experience in the relevant laboratory discipline preferred.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Proficiency in MS Windows-based systems and laboratory software.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform clinical testing and release accurate patient results in accordance with established protocols.
• Operate, calibrate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory analyzers and equipment.
• Conduct and monitor quality control procedures; investigate discrepancies.
• Validate new reagent lots and support new methods and instrumentation.
• Utilize laboratory information systems for specimen processing, test management, and result reporting.
• Participate in external proficiency testing and post-software upgrade validations.
• Maintain specimen handling, storage requirements, and test-specific protocols.
• Ensure compliance with quality, safety, WHMIS, and chemical hygiene regulations.
• Support training, documentation updates, and process improvement.
