Job summary

Northern Health – BC is seeking a Registered Medical Laboratory Technologist to contribute to its Laboratory Services department. You will perform technical duties across chemistry, hematology, and transfusion medicine, ensuring accurate test procedures and verifications.

Under supervisor, you will evaluate results, prepare reports, and participate in rotating on-call assignments to support 24/7 service. On-call shifts include evenings, weekends, and overnight periods as scheduled.

Qualifications

• Registered Medical Laboratory Technologist in good standing.
• Experience in chemistry, hematology, and transfusion medicine preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform technical work in laboratory test procedures.
• Evaluate and verify results and prepare related reports.

In accordance with the established mission, vision, values, and strategic priorities of Northern Health, and under the general supervision of the Manager or designate, the Medical Laboratory Technologist performs technical work involved in the duties associated with laboratory test procedures. In addition, the Medical Laboratory Technologist evaluates and verifies results and prepares related reports.

Field of practice for this position is: Chemistry, Hematology, Transfusion Medicine (science).

This position includes participations in an on-call rotation to support 24/7 laboratory services.

On-call assignments are scheduled on a rotating basis and may require return to site for call-outs outside of regular working hours.

On call On call would be Monday-Friday 1700-0730. Saturday 1530-0730. Sunday 0730-0730
