Job summary

Bantrel is seeking a Field Specialist - Night Shift to support the Exhibition Station on the Ontario Line project from our infrastructure team. This full-time role involves on-site supervision, adherence to safety standards, and coordination of field activities at a major transit construction site in Toronto, Canada.

The ideal candidate has a engineering background, 5–7 years of infrastructure experience, and a strong ability to read drawings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related technical discipline, or equivalent field experience.
• Minimum 5-7 years of relevant experience in infrastructure or transit construction.
• Experience in construction supervision or field engineering roles on large-scale infrastructure projects.
• Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and quality standards.
• Strong focus on safety.
• Proficiency in interpreting architectural and engineering drawings.
• Experience working within an active/live rail corridor environment.
• Knowledge of rail corridor access requirements and rail-specific safety practices, with relevant certifications or training such as CROR, PTS, or similar considered an asset.
• Flexibility and willingness to work night shifts, as the role will support construction activities that occur during rail access windows and off-hours work periods.
• Effective communication and problem-solving skills in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency in MS Office and Bluebeam; experience with AutoCAD and Navisworks is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee field activities and ensure quality, safety, and compliance on site.
• Coordinate with discipline leads and project management.
• Review Work Plans, Risk Assessments, and Deviation Requests.
• Maintain daily site records and progress tracking.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, environment, quality, schedule, and cost requirements.
• Support inspections and ITP-related deliverables.
• Escalate issues and provide risk mitigation input.
