Job summary

Wood Group Minerals & Metals is seeking a Night Shift Construction Coordinator for the Denison Wheeler River Phoenix project site near Williams Lake, SK. Qualifications

  • 6+ years project experience in Construction Management.
  • Superior knowledge of construction and HSSE processes.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications.
  • Proven working knowledge of Mechanical and Piping equipment and material.
  • Proven experience relating to mechanical and piping testing methodologies.
  • General knowledge pertaining to the construction goals; especially those of other disciplines.
  • Previous experience working on large scale industrial project.
  • Authorization to lawfully work in Canada without sponsorship from Wood is required.

Responsibilities

  • Manage installation of multi-discipline scopes on site.
  • Oversee Lock-out/Tag-Out program for energy isolation on electrical systems.
  • Interface with inspectors; produce reports and installation certification.
  • Field management of multiple contractors on site.
  • Monitor contractor performance against HSSE, cost, schedule and quality targets.
  • Produce daily progress reports.
  • Foster cross-functional teamwork across identified interfaces.
  • Support turnover from construction to commissioning.

Responsibilities

Typical responsibilities:

  • Manage the installation of multi discipline scopes of work on site
  • Management of site Lock-out/Tag-Out program as it relates to energy isolation on electrical systems
  • Interface with Inspectors. Production and management of reports and installation certification.
  • Field management of multiple contractors on site
  • Monitor contractor performance ensuring compliance with all project objectives - HSSE, Cost, Schedule, and Quality and on time completion of their scopes of work
  • Production of daily reports against progress of their portion of the overall project schedule
  • Develop team relationships to ensure smooth interaction between parties responsible for work identification, planning & scheduling, resource provision, and execution of work
  • Control nonconforming products, services and their subsequent repair, and re-work until corrective actions have been implemented
  • Ensure compliance with established safety and environmental programs to execute services with zero harm to people, environment, and plant
  • Monitor, participate and lead safety performance of contractors. Implement steps to rectify any trends of deficiencies in performance of the program
  • Ensure safety reporting, incidents, and near misses are reported both in a timely and accurate manner in accordance with the standard procedure
  • Maintain a thorough and comprehensive record of actions and events. Document and/or obtain necessary detail to provide a clear understanding of particular occurrences and conditions
  • Ensure a high standard of discipline support is provided across the project consistently
  • Assist in the identification, documentation and communication of the organization's deliverables and dependencies across the project
  • Clearly identify cross-project interfaces
  • Support the Turnover process from construction to commissioning
  • All other duties as assigned
