Job summary

Certified Group is seeking a Microbiology Technician to join our team in Brooks, Canada. You will prepare samples for microbiological testing of food products and environments, applying approved techniques and maintaining strict quality standards.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.
• Associate degree in Life Science or two years of laboratory experience, preferred.
• Broad knowledge of concepts, practices, and procedures of a food testing laboratory.
• Ability to travel is preferred.
• Or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Prepare samples for microbiological testing.
• Apply aseptic techniques in daily workload.
• Maintain media and reagents for daily testing.
• Inventory and report expendable supplies/materials needed for testing requirements.
• Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of the lab area.
• Conduct quality control by monitoring incubator temperatures and controls.
