We’re hiring a Night Janitor at Sonora Resort

Sonora Resort, a luxury all-inclusive Relais & Châteaux property located in the wilderness of British Columbia, is seeking a Night Janitor to join our team. This seasonal, on-site role involves shift work, with a start date as soon as possible. The resort is accessible by water taxi from Campbell River on Vancouver Island, nestled in the Discovery Islands, offering opportunities for outdoor activities and adventure.

Position Summary

The Night Janitor supports cleaning and maintenance of the resort’s public areas, working independently during the night shift alongside the night auditor to prepare the resort for the next day. Responsibilities include cleaning common areas, floors, laundry, and pressing.

Job Duties

• Deep cleaning of common areas for hygiene and sanitation
• Proper disposal of garbage and recycling, following environmental policies
• Laundry services including sorting, folding, and pressing linens
• Cleaning floors and surfaces in washrooms, dining, spa, and public spaces
• Responding to guest requests and managing lost and found items
• Proper use of cleaning supplies and equipment
• Maintaining communication with colleagues and departments
• Driving small electric vehicles around the resort
• Adapting to change, working efficiently under pressure and deadlines
• Providing excellent customer service and exceeding guest expectations
• Working independently or as part of a team
• Performing physically demanding tasks in a fast-paced environment

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of housekeeping experience; resort experience preferred
• High School Diploma required; further education in Hospitality or related fields is a plus
• Fluent in English; additional languages are an asset
• First Aid & AED certification is an asset
