Job summary

PARC Retirement Living in North Vancouver is seeking a Night Housekeeper to join the Cedar Springs PARC team. This casual/on-call role runs 11pm–7am, Sunday through Saturday, with an hourly rate of $28.85.

You will perform night-shift janitorial duties, laundry, answer calls, monitor security, and respond to emergencies as a first responder. We value reliable, caring team members who support seniors and work with minimal supervision.

Qualifications

• Two years of janitorial or housekeeping experience in hospitality or senior living.
• Knowledge of security procedures; Building security training is a plus.
• Grade 12 or equivalent; ability to read/write in English.
• Current WHMIS, First Aid and CPR certifications; HCA and FOODSAFE Level 1 would be assets.
• Ability to self-direct and respond to emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize common areas according to a pre-set schedule.
• Perform laundry services as needed.
• Answer phone calls and screen visitors at entry points.
• Conduct security patrols and monitor video surveillance at night.
• Respond to resident calls and emergencies; contact on-call manager as required.
• Log and communicate overnight issues or occurrences.

As a PARC Night Housekeeper, you are a caretaker of this vision, responsible for night-shift janitorial and safety/security duties. Most importantly, Night Housekeepers are the first responders in case of overnight emergencies.

This role includes:

• Cleaning and sanitizing common areas according to a pre-set schedule.
• Performing laundry services as needed.
• Answering phone calls and screening visitors at building entry points.
• Conducting security patrols and monitoring video surveillance to ensure resident and staff safety throughout the night.
• Responding to resident calls and emergencies; providing First Aid and contacting emergency services and the on-call manager as required.
• Logging and communicating overnight issues or occurrences.

• You have at least two years of janitorial or housekeeping experience in the hospitality or senior-living industry.
• You have solid knowledge of security procedures. Building security training and/or completion of a Building Services Worker Program are assets, as well.
• You have completed Grade 12 or equivalent, and are able to read, write and effectively communicate in English.
• You possess current WHMIS, First Aid and CPR certifications. A Health Care Aide qualification and FOODSAFE Level 1 would be assets, too.
• You’re able to self-direct and work effectively with minimal supervision, and also respond to emergency situations effectively when required.
• You understand and respect the needs of seniors, their families, and other professional services engaged with our residents.
