Job description

Our Night Hosts are friendly and caring in nature. They cover two hotels, Scarlet, an adults-only eco-sanctuary that celebrates the richness of natural living and Bedruthan, a creative outpost for all to enjoy.

This position, within our Front of House Team, is crucial to delivering exceptional hospitality to our guests and assist in maintaining a safe, secure and clean environment. The role requires the ability to communicate confidently with our guests and other staff so excellent verbal and written skills are essential and a good grasp of the English language.

Key Responsibilities

No two days at the hotels are the same and your responsibilities will vary daily, however each day you can expect to:

  1. Provide a swift and effective check-in process for late arrivals, and early check outs adhering to standard operating procedures.
  2. Ensure all telephone calls are answered quickly and as efficiently as possible.
  3. Room service deliveries, running trays and supporting the food and beverage team.
  4. Responsible for ensuring the accuracy of guest billing, financial transactions and the reception float.
  5. Maintain the brand standards of our reception and public spaces as well as keeping areas tidy and presentable.
  6. Overnight security, to ensure the hotel site is secure.
  7. An understanding of health and safety as well as the ability to keep calm in challenging circumstances.
  8. Deal with in-house guest requests, recording all feedback for seamless shift handovers.
  9. Maintain a positive and friendly attitude at all times, even when working to achieve solutions to challenges.
  10. Report any maintenance issues and check that the work has been completed and feedback to the guest.

Basic computer skills and accurate numeracy are required along with honesty and good judgement.

You will need to be physically capable to patrol the hotel and its grounds which are built into a steep hillside. Nightly cleaning and tidying throughout the hotel are also part of this role.
