Job summary

AgeCare Shawnee is seeking a Health Care Aide to join the care team on night shifts for a 6-month temporary assignment. You will work under the supervision of a Licensed Practical Nurse to deliver safe and thorough personal care to residents.

You will assist with baths, transfers, meals, and daily activities while following care plans and safety protocols to support resident well-being and comfort.

Qualifications

• One year of experience in continuing care or related environment preferred.
• Fluent in English, both oral and written.
• Completion of a recognized PCA/HCA certificate or equivalent.
• Active registration with CLHA.

Responsibilities

• Assist with baths, showers, and personal care for residents according to the NCP and safety procedures.
• Assist with transfers using lifts and transfer belts.
• Support feeding during meals and snacks and refer to care plans for diets.
• Provide routine care and skin care under supervision of the Staff Nurse.
• Assist residents with mobility and movement around the facility and to dining areas.
• Assist with activities and accompany residents to therapy or social events.
