Job summary

Manitoulin Transport in Canada is seeking a dock worker to unload inbound freight and load outbound trailers, ensuring accurate labeling and documentation. You will distribute shipments to drivers, reweigh freight as needed, and support the dock foreman while meeting tight deadlines.

The role requires forklift operation, AS-400/M Trac experience (training provided), and TDG knowledge. A can-do attitude and attention to detail are essential for safe, efficient terminal operations.

Qualifications

• AS-400 and M Trac experience (training provided).
• Forklift experience and TDG knowledge.
• Team-oriented with ability to handle pressure.
• Attention to detail and good Canadian geography knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Unload freight from inbound trailers and load outbound trailers.
• Distribute freight to P and D drivers and mark shipments with IDs.
• Document overages, shortages, and damages; reweigh inbound/outbound freight.
• Support the dock foreman and meet deadlines; maintain cleanliness.
• Check manifests and inspect inbound/outbound shipments; assist with terminal cleanup.

Job Description

• Unloading freight from Inbound Trailers
• Loading Outbound trailers
• Distributing freight to P and D drivers
• Marking shipments with Identifying Information
• Documenting Overages, shortages, and damages
• Reweighing Inbound and Outbound freight
• Provide support to dock foreman
• Ability to meet deadlines
• Attention to detail, and good knowledge of Canadian Geography is an asset.
• Dock Experience is also an asset
• The ideal candidate will be able to successfully and safely operate all dock equipment pertinent to the position
• Checking manifests and inspecting inbound/outbound shipments.
• Assist with the clean up in and around the terminal
