Job summary

Silvera for Seniors in Calgary is seeking a Community Night Attendant for Aspen. Reporting to the Housekeeping Supervisor, you will ensure the overall cleanliness and safety of the community during the night shift, handling emergencies per operating procedures and completing all paperwork.

Responsibilities include securing the building, cleaning common areas and laundry, assisting residents, answering phones, coordinating with the on-site team, and supporting multiple communities as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2-3 years’ experience in housekeeping/room attendance.
• Demonstrates a high standard of hygiene and personal appearance.
• Demonstrates strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Excellent customer service skills and a positive attitude.
• Basic computer skills, such as: basic keyboard skills, ability to complete reports, email functions, ability to complete Silvera online training.
• Able to work independently with minimal supervision and/or as a team member.
• Safe Food Handling course, WHMIS, and First Aid, or willingness to complete.

Responsibilities

• Maintains security of the community by following procedures and controlling access to the building (monitoring security cameras, visitor sign-in procedures, etc.).
• Responsible for the cleanliness and sanitization of all common areas and flooring, including the laundry area and soiled laundry.
• Responds to resident needs and follows proper cleaning procedures.
• Answers phone and directs visitors; acts as the primary contact within the community.
• Communicates with the assigned Silvera community at preset times in compliance with Working Alone legislation.
• Resolves emergencies per standard operating procedures and completes documentation.
• Reports safety issues to the Community Manager.
• Performs daily/weekly cleaning and sanitization of the kitchen area.
• Completes daily dining room set up and assists in breakfast preparation.
• Flexibility to support all communities and relieve other staff as required.
• Reports maintenance concerns in common areas or resident units.
• Participates in and promotes Silvera's Health and Safety program.
