Job summary

Pomeroy Lodging in Fort McMurray is seeking a Night Auditor to balance and close the day’s business accurately and timely, preparing the hotel for the next day’s operations. You’ll ensure guest and staff safety, maximize room revenue per shift, and deliver a warm, memorable guest experience.

Ideal candidates have strong math, bookkeeping, and front desk experience, plus excellent communication skills and tech-savviness. Night shifts available, with weekend coverage as needed.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a friendly, attentive, and professional demeanor with guests and respond to guest concerns.
• Keep front desk, lobby, and entrance looking picture-perfect for a great first impression.
• Track arrivals, departures and in-house activities; organize VIP amenities.
• Efficiently book reservations by phone, in person, or online.
• Process payments (room charges, cash, checks, debit, credit) and balance/batch transactions.
• Complete daily auditing, balancing, and closing procedures accurately.

Job Description

As a Night Auditor, you are accountable for balancing and closing the day’s business accurately and timely, preparing the hotel for the next day’s operation, and ensuring all our guests and employees' safety. You have the authority to exceed guest expectations and create a lasting positive impression on each guest. Additionally, you will achieve excellence by maximizing room revenue every shift while delivering against key financial goals for the department. Ultimately, you are a key component in making each guest’s experience warm, pleasant, and memorable.

• Ensures the front desk, lobby, and guest entrance are “picture-perfect” for optimal first impressions.
• Keeps track of arrivals, departures, and in-house daily activities and organizes VIP amenities where appropriate.
• Efficiently books guest reservations requested by phone, in person, or online.
• Processes payment types such as room charges, cash, checks, debit, or credit and balances and process all credit card batches.
• Completes daily auditing, balancing, and closing procedures accurately and efficiently.

Experience/Passions/Education

• Previous experience infront desk, night audit, or in a hotel is an asset.
• Advanced math and bookkeeping skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Tech-savvy.

Working Conditions

This position will include night shift any day of the week or weekend and the occasional day shift or afternoon or evening shift if needed. This position will require long periods of standing and may require lifting and bending. There will be mostlyindependent, unsupervised work and brief periods of exposure to cold air due to the location of the front desk.
