Job summary

St. Eugene Resort in Cranbrook, Alberta, is seeking a Night Auditor to ensure nightly financial accuracy and smooth overnight operations.

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education in hospitality management or accounting.
  • Experience with night audit procedures or overnight shifts is preferred.
  • Familiarity with PMS and financial reporting software is advantageous.
  • Excel and financial reconciliation knowledge is desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Perform nightly audit procedures including balancing and reconciling daily financial transactions and reports.
  • Verify and post charges, payments, and adjustments to guest accounts accurately.
  • Generate and distribute daily revenue and occupancy reports to management.
  • Respond to guest inquiries and resolve issues during overnight hours with professionalism.
  • Coordinate with front desk, housekeeping, and other departments to ensure smooth overnight operations.
  • Maintain accurate records of all transactions and prepare documentation for management review.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements during audit processes.
  • Identify and report discrepancies or irregularities in financial data promptly.

Job description

The Night Audit position in the hospitality industry is a critical role responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of daily financial transactions and operational data overnight. This role serves as the bridge between the day and night shifts, reconciling accounts, generating reports, and preparing the property’s financial records for the next business day. The Night Auditor also provides exceptional guest service overnight, addressing inquiries and resolving issues promptly to maintain guest satisfaction. This position requires meticulous attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment. Ultimately, the Night Auditor ensures that all financial and operational data is accurate, complete, and compliant with company policies and industry standards, supporting the overall success of the hospitality operation. Reporting to the Front Office Leadership team, our Night Audit Agents (GSAs) serve as ambassadors for the hospitality, story, and culture of St. Eugene Golf Resort & Casino. All members of the Front Office Team share responsibilities for seeking and acting on ways to enhance guests’ stays; responding to and fulfilling guest requests and inquiries; keeping guests their top priority; running office operations quickly, accurately, and thoroughly; and enjoying their work.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Post-secondary education in hospitality management, accounting, or related field.
  • Experience with night audit procedures in a hotel or resort environment.
  • Familiarity with unionized work environments and collective agreements.
  • Strong customer service background with conflict resolution skills.
  • Advanced skills in Excel and financial reporting software.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in hospitality or hotel front desk operations.
  • Basic knowledge of accounting principles and financial reconciliation.
  • Proficiency with property management systems (PMS) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to work overnight shifts and independently with minimal supervision.
Conditions of Employment

All shifts are overnight 8 to 10-hour shifts, 2 to 4 shifts a week. Must be able to stand for long periods of time. Position is subject to a 90-day probationary period, during which training must be completed in AM & PM.
