Job summary

AltaGas is offering a 2027 Digital (NextGen AI & Data) Intern role for 8 months starting January 2027. You will join the Data & AI team and work on enterprise data, analytics, AI, and digital transformation initiatives across AI & Data Engineering and AI & Data Analytics streams.

The role provides hands-on exposure to data platforms, cloud technologies, automation, governance, and business transformation activities, with mentorship from experienced professionals and a capstone project.

Qualifications

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with an interest in data, AI, technology and innovation.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Ability to learn quickly, adapt to new technologies and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• Curiosity, initiative and a passion for continuous learning.
• Experience with data analysis, programming, reporting tools and AI technologies (Power BI, Python, SQL, Azure, Git, APIs) is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Support development and maintenance of modern data platforms, data pipelines and workflows for analytics.
• Ingest, transform, manage and monitor enterprise data assets.
• Contribute to AI-enabled solutions, automation initiatives and PoC projects.
• Support cloud-based data and analytics platforms and modern software practices.
• Work with structured and unstructured data to support reporting and analytics.
• Assist with governance and data quality initiatives and stakeholder engagement.
