North Bay Regional Health Centre in North Bay, Ontario, is seeking a registered nurse for the Birthing Unit to provide family-centered maternity care across antenatal, labour, birth, postpartum and newborn care. The role requires current Ontario RN registration, BLS, and NRP certification, with ongoing professional development and strong teamwork.

The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent communication, leadership and teaching skills, and contribute to safe, high-quality patient care

Qualifications

• Current Certificate of Registration ~ College of Nurses of Ontario in good standing
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Health Care Providers (HCP) certificate within the last 12 months
• Minimum 2–3 years experience caring for antenatal, labour, birth, postpartum and newborn patients (within the last 1–2 years)
• Certified in Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
• Current certifications: IVTherapy, Fetal Health Surveillance, Cervical Examinations, Epidural Care, Breastfeeding Education (WHO Level I course), Peri-Operative Role for Caesarean Section (scrub and circulating)
• Commitment to family centered maternity care

QUALIFICATIONS

Certification/Experience/Knowledge

• Current Certificate of Registration ~ College of Nurses of Ontario in good standing required
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Health Care Providers (HCP) certificate required (within the last twelve months)
• Minimum (2-3 years) experience caring for antenatal, labour, birth, postpartum and newborn patients (within the last 1-2 years) required
• Certified in Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) required
• Current certifications required:
  • IVTherapy
  • Fetal Health Surveillance
  • Cervical Examinations
  • Epidural Care
  • Breastfeeding Education (WHO Level I course)
  • Peri-Operative Role for Caesarean Section (scrub and circulating)

• Must demonstrate good attendance and work record
• Bilingualism (Advanced level English/French) is required. All unilingual candidates are encouraged to apply and may be considered if the identified French requirement has been met or there are no successful bilingual candidates. A formal French test will be conducted to evaluate the proficiency level.
