Job Summary

This position, working with the New Product Launch Manager, supports product launches, defines processes & procedures for lean replenishment, and manages logistics layout. The role requires expertise in lean manufacturing and production systems related to logistics, acting as a change agent to challenge existing processes and supporting project management for kaizen events.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Support standardization of procedures & metrics across manufacturing warehouses.
  2. Evaluate the efficiency of current or future logistics processes.
  3. Provide logistics technology or information to support manufacturing and service operations.
  4. Assess inventory tracking technologies and web-based warehousing software to improve efficiency.
  5. Develop logistics metrics, analysis tools, and KPIs for business units.
  6. Analyze logistics data related to customer service, forecasting, procurement, manufacturing, inventory, transportation, or warehousing.
  7. Identify opportunities for cost reduction or process improvement in logistics.
  8. Develop specifications for equipment, tools, facility layouts, or material handling systems.
  9. Conduct logistics studies such as time, zero-base, rate, network, flow-path, or supply chain analyses.
  10. Develop business rules or SOPs to streamline operations.
  11. Design supply chains that minimize environmental impact or costs.
  12. Define tugger routes & standards for tugging & picking areas.
  13. Collaborate with suppliers to implement lean material flow.
  14. Engage employees at all levels to foster continuous improvement.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Industrial, Logistics, or Manufacturing Engineering.
  • Registered Professional Engineer (P. Eng.) or Engineer in Training (EIT) in good standing with a Canadian engineering association.
Preferred Skills and Experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and their application.
  • Understanding of logistics processes for effective material and product movement.
  • Experience with material handling and management, including storage, transportation, and handling of raw and hazardous materials.
  • Broad knowledge of production scheduling, machinery, tooling, and process variation.
  • Previous experience with company products and supply sources.
