Job description

Position Summary

As a member of our New Product Development Prototype Shop, you will provide driving services for testing and demonstrations of New Flyer buses. The role involves evaluating buses to ensure safety, quality, and customer satisfaction, contributing to the engineering and operational processes that support sustainable transportation.

What you will do:

1. Drive and park buses for testing and demonstrations.
2. Conduct inspections, perform operational tests, and document findings to ensure readiness.
3. Provide feedback to engineering on drawings, designs, and operational theories.
4. Assist with fabrication and testing equipment.
5. Troubleshoot vehicle issues pre- and post-road test.
6. Write reports and maintain driver logs.
7. Assist with shop maintenance and cleaning.
8. Perform other duties as required.

Minimum Requirements:

• Valid Manitoba Class 2 driver’s license with airbrake endorsement.
• Experience driving large vehicles or buses is preferred.
• Proficiency with Outlook and Excel.
• Understanding of vehicle dynamics and maintenance practices.
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including nights and weekends.
• Ability to perform vehicle inspections and diagnostics.
• Effective communication skills for reporting and collaboration.
• Attention to safety procedures and detail.
• Ability to travel cross-border.
