Job description

Position Summary

As a member of our New Product Development Prototype Shop, you will provide driving services for testing and demonstrations of New Flyer buses. The role involves evaluating buses to ensure safety, quality, and customer satisfaction. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the engineering and operational processes shaping sustainable transportation.

What you will do:
  1. Move, drive, and park buses as required for testing and demonstration.
  2. Conduct thorough inspections, perform operational tests, and document findings to ensure buses are road-ready.
  3. Provide feedback to engineering on drawings, designs, and operational theories.
  4. Assist with fabrication and testing equipment.
  5. Troubleshoot vehicle issues before and after road tests.
  6. Write reports and maintain driver logs.
  7. Assist with general shop duties, maintenance, and cleaning.
  8. Perform other duties as required.
Qualifications
  • Valid Manitoba Class 2 driver’s license with airbrake endorsement.
  • Experience driving large vehicles or buses preferred.
  • Proficiency with Outlook and Excel.
  • Understanding of vehicle dynamics and maintenance practices.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including nights and weekends.
  • Ability to perform vehicle inspections and diagnostics.
  • Effective communication skills for reporting and collaboration.
  • Attention to detail and adherence to safety procedures.
  • Willingness to travel across borders.
