Job summary

North Bay Regional Health Centre is seeking a Centralized Intravenous Admixture (CIVA) Pharmacy Technician to join the Pharmacy Department. The role requires a Pharmacy Technician graduate, Ontario certification, and at least 3 years IV rotation experience in a hospital setting.

The position supports hospital automated technologies such as Meditech and other hospital pharmacy systems, with emphasis on safety and accurate admixture processes.

Qualifications

• Graduate from a Pharmacy Technician course or equivalent required.
• Certified Pharmacy Technician (Ontario College of Pharmacists)
• Minimum 3 years IV rotation experience in a hospital setting required.
• Experience in a hospital pharmacy and hospital pharmacy automated technologies are assets.
• Knowledge and experience with Meditech an asset.

PROGRAM INCENTIVE

North Bay Regional Health Centre is offering $5000 in exchange for a two-year commitment to the Health Centre as a Regulated Pharmacy Technician. Funds are received in increments throughout the two-year commitment.

QUALIFICATIONS

Certification/Experience/Knowledge:

• Graduate from a Pharmacy Technician course or equivalent required
• Certified Pharmacy Technician (Ontario College of Pharmacists)
• Minimum 3 years IV rotation experience in a hospital setting required
• Experience in a hospital pharmacy and hospital pharmacy automated technologies are assets
• Knowledge and experience with Meditech an asset

Skills/Abilities

• Computer skills (i.e. Microsoft Word) required
• Demonstrated excellent judgment and proven analytical skills required
• Good attendance and work record required
• Must demonstrate commitment to ensure the safety of fellow workers, patients, volunteers, and visitors
• Must support and contribute to a culture of safety and prevention of adverse health events in this organization
• Bilingualism (Advanced level English/French) is required. All unilingual candidates are encouraged to apply and may be considered if the identified French requirement has been met or there are no successful bilingual candidates. A formal French test will be conducted to evaluate the proficiency level
