Job summary

North Bay Regional Health Centre is seeking a Centralized Intravenous Admixture (CIVA) Pharmacy Technician to join the Pharmacy Department. The role requires a graduate of a Pharmacy Technician program with certification and at least 3 years of IV rotation experience in a hospital environment.

Knowledge of Meditech is considered an asset, and strong English/French bilingual communication is required. This on-site position includes the standard pay/benefits terms per CUPE 139.

Qualifications

• Graduate from a Pharmacy Technician course or equivalent.
• Certified Pharmacy Technician (Ontario College of Pharmacists).
• Minimum 3 years IV rotation experience in a hospital setting.
• Experience with hospital pharmacy automation is an asset.
• Knowledge and experience with Meditech an asset.
• Bilingual English/French at advanced level; formal French test may be conducted.

PROGRAM INCENTIVE

North Bay Regional Health Centre is offering $5000 in exchange for a two-year commitment to the Health Centre as a Regulated Pharmacy Technician. Funds are received in increments throughout the two-year commitment.

QUALIFICATIONS

Certification/Experience/Knowledge:

• Graduate from a Pharmacy Technician course or equivalent required
• Certified Pharmacy Technician (Ontario College of Pharmacists)
• Minimum 3 years IV rotation experience in a hospital setting required
• Experience in a hospital pharmacy and hospital pharmacy automated technologies are assets
• Knowledge and experience with Meditech an asset

Skills/Abilities

• Computer skills (i.e. Microsoft Word) required
• Demonstrated excellent judgment and proven analytical skills required
• Good attendance and work record required
• Must demonstrate commitment to ensure the safety of fellow workers, patients, volunteers, and visitors
• Must support and contribute to a culture of safety and prevention of adverse health events in this organization
• Bilingualism (Advanced level English/French) is required. All unilingual candidates are encouraged to apply and may be considered if the identified French requirement has been met or there are no successful bilingual candidates. A formal French test will be conducted to evaluate the proficiency level
