Job summary

Hatch Ltd. in Mississauga, ON is seeking a Mechanical Designer new graduate to support global projects.

Reporting to the Mechanical Discipline Lead Engineer, you will develop 3D models and 2D drawings for facilities and processes and contribute to practical, safe design solutions. The ideal candidate is pursuing a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering Technology (graduating 2027) or recent graduate, with CAD experience (AutoCAD, Revit, Bentley MicroStation).

Qualifications

• Must be working towards graduating in 2027, or recently graduated, with a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering Technology or similar program.
• Excel academically while being actively involved in extra-curricular and/or volunteer activities at school or in the community
• Previous relevant co-op and summer work terms or internships in Mechanical or Piping design is an asset
• Academic or work experience with AutoCAD, Revit, Bentley MicroStation, OpenPlant or Design Review CAD software is an asset.
• Understanding or experience with layout development of industrial facilities is considered an asset

Responsibilities

• Work independently to apply design principles for 3D models and 2D mechanical equipment, general arrangement drawings of facilities and processes.
• Work collaboratively to share the results of your work with senior members of the discipline and/or other Hatch groups
• Develop 3D models and 2D drawings of mechanical equipment.
• Become knowledgeable of various mechanical equipment, various design tools, piping system design, discipline workflows, and industrial components/processes.
• Participate in office and site safety training and inductions as needed to support office and site activities
• Perform field verification, and provide field support during construction
• Willingness and ability to travel and work in other Hatch offices or project work sites (including remote sites) as needs and opportunities arise
