We are accepting recent or upcoming new graduates into the 18-month rotational program with a start date in May 2027. Throughout the term, you’ll rotate through three asset classes and get the opportunity to work on special projects, while gaining valuable experience within the Investment Management space. You’ll get a chance to complete three 6-month rotations and gain a unique perspective and deep understanding of our Investment Management function, which is comprised of the following asset classes: Public Equities, Fixed Income, Private Debt & Loan, Mortgages, Infrastructure & Renewable Resources, Real Estate, Private Equity, and Multi-Asset Portfolio Management.

We are looking for several individuals to join in either fundamental investment focused or quantitative focused roles. Successful candidate will be intellectually curious, adaptable, and collaborative individuals who are eager to learn and contribute in a fast-paced environment. At AIMCo, you'll work alongside experienced investment professionals while developing technical, analytical, and communication skills that will accelerate your career. What You’ll Do:
Fundamental Focused:
  • Evaluate and support the execution of investment opportunities across public and private markets, including direct, co-investment, and fund investments.
  • Conduct research and analysis on companies, industries, funds, and market trends to inform investment decisions.
  • Build financial models, valuations, and investment underwriting analyses.
  • Assess opportunities through financial statement analysis, market research, and due diligence on business models, competitive positioning, management teams, risks, and value creation potential.
  • Prepare investment research reports and present recommendations to the investment team.
  • Monitor portfolio holdings, market developments, and emerging investment opportunities and risks.
  • Collaborate with investment teams on idea generation, transaction execution, portfolio management, and asset monitoring.
  • Leverage investment research platforms (e.g., Bloomberg, FactSet, Capital IQ) and AI-enabled tools to enhance research, analysis, reporting, and operational efficiency.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in AI-assisted analytical workflows and maintain awareness of emerging technologies relevant to investment management.
Quantitative Focused:
  • Develop and enhance analytical tools, automated workflows, and investment data infrastructure.
  • Build and improve financial models, quantitative models, databases, and analytical frameworks to support investment decision-making.
  • Conduct quantitative research and data analysis across markets, asset classes, and risk factors to generate investment insights.
  • Support portfolio managers and traders with risk analytics, performance attribution, portfolio construction, and investment recommendations.
  • Backtest investment strategies and monitor model performance.
  • Evaluate and implement new technologies, data sources, and analytical techniques.
  • Collaborate with investment teams on research, portfolio management, and investment projects.
  • Prepare presentations, reports, and data visualizations to communicate research findings and recommendations.
  • Leverage AI-enabled tools and emerging technologies to enhance research, analytics, reporting, and operational efficiency.
Ideal Candidate Qualifications
Fundamental Focused:
  • Recent undergraduate or master's graduate in Business, Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related field (completed within the last 12 months).
  • Previous internship or work experience in investment banking, private equity, asset management, or a related field.
  • Solid understanding of valuation and investment analysis techniques, including discounted cash flow (DCF), leveraged buyout (LBO), and other relevant methodologies.
  • Proficiency in financial modeling and the ability to translate quantitative and qualitative information into investment insights.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Strong critical-thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills with a high attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to synthesize quantitative and qualitative information into well-supported investment insights and recommendations.
  • Self-motivated, intellectually curious, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities.
  • Demonstrated interest in investing, capital markets, and long-term value creation.
  • Progress toward or completion of the CFA designation is an asset.
  • Demonstrates a strong commitment to AIMCo's values of excellence, transparency, humility, integrity, and collaboration.
Quantitative Focused:
  • Recent undergraduate, master's, or PhD graduate in a quantitative discipline such as Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, Economics, Finance, Physics, or Data Science (completed within the last 12 months).
  • Experience working with large datasets and conducting quantitative analysis using Python through internships, academic research, or related experience.
  • Strong programming skills in Python (e.g., pandas, NumPy, SciPy); experience with SQL, VBA, or other programming languages is an asset.
  • Knowledge of statistics, econometrics, machine learning, optimization, and quantitative modeling techniques.
  • Ability to translate quantitative and qualitative analysis into actionable insights and recommendations.
  • Strong analytical, critical-thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills, with a high degree of attention to detail.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including data analysis, financial modeling, and automation.
  • Experience conducting financial, economic, or quantitative research; familiarity with Bloomberg, Capital IQ, FactSet, or similar platforms is an asset.
  • Exposure to areas such as quantitative investing, machine learning, data visualization, portfolio construction, risk modeling, actuarial science, CFA studies, or academic research is preferred.
  • Self-motivated, intellectually curious, and able to work independently while collaborating effectively in a team environment.

Success Measures

Success at the end of your 18-month term will be determined by the undertaking and completion of specified daily tasks while collaborating alongside the team, sharing your ideas, contributing to several ongoing projects, and assisting the department with implementing and improving process efficiencies. There is potential for extension and/or full-time employment once rotation is complete.

Final candidates will be asked to undergo a security screening, which includes a credit bureau and a criminal record investigation, the results of which must be acceptable to AIMCo.
