We’re seeking a Networking II to join our team.

Overview

Compucom Systems, Inc. provides comprehensive IT managed services for various business sizes. We focus on a customer-centric approach, employing dedicated professionals who act with ownership, integrity, and enthusiasm. We are looking for a Networking II to support and manage large enterprise systems, primarily Cisco and other industry vendors, including designing, planning, installing, configuring, maintaining, and optimizing network software and communication links. Expertise in Cisco routing and switching is essential. The role involves troubleshooting, end-user support, vendor coordination, and customer engagement, requiring excellent communication and presentation skills.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Manage and upgrade all network equipment, hardware, and software.
  • Handle escalated incidents from Networking I support or customers.
  • Be available for on-call duties.
  • Perform cabling and patching within data centers.
  • Troubleshoot Cisco wireless networks and conduct Wi-Fi surveys.
  • Perform remote testing and triage to validate alerts and incidents.
  • Guide end users and helpdesk staff through advanced troubleshooting.
  • Resolve complex network issues across multiple sites.
  • Serve as the technical point of contact for customers and L1 team, escalating issues as needed.
  • Participate in site visits, vendor meetings, and troubleshooting hardware / software issues.
  • Knowledge of Cisco ACI is a plus.
  • Conduct RCAs for major incidents and escalations.
  • Support change management, problem management, and documentation efforts.
  • Assist in hiring and technical evaluations.
  • Monitor network performance and troubleshoot problems.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of relevant experience.
  • Associate or bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • ITIL knowledge or certification is a plus.
  • Cisco certifications are required.
  • Experience with Cisco firewalls is a plus.
  • Experience with incident ticketing systems (e.g., Remedy, ServiceNow).
  • Knowledge of Cisco, CheckPoint, Cisco ACI, routers, switches, wireless access points, controllers, load balancers, and cabling.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills for LAN / WAN and wireless networks.
