Job summary

Price Industries Limited in Winnipeg, MB is seeking a Network & Systems Administrator to ensure the security, reliability, and performance of the IT infrastructure. You will manage networks, servers, and cloud environments, and collaborate across technical and non‑technical teams to enable scalable operations.

Responsibilities include configuring devices, backups, disaster recovery, and security hardening for cloud and on‑prem.

Qualifications

• Degree or diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 3+ years of IT network administration or IT infrastructure experience.
• Experience with Windows Server/Workstation environments.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Azure and enterprise‑grade firewalls.
• Proven experience with networking protocols (TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, VPN, SD‑WAN) and routing.
• Familiarity with virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper‑V, Citrix).
• Intermediate backup systems and disaster recovery knowledge.
• Knowledge of Active Directory, Azure AD, and cloud infrastructure.
• Scripting skills in PowerShell or Python are assets.
• Certifications such as CCNP, CISSP, Security+ are considered assets.

• Monitor system and network performance and proactively resolve issues to minimize downtime.
• Perform data backups, disaster recovery operations, and system upgrades.
• Ensure compliance with information security procedures and harden cloud and on‑prem infrastructures.
• Support integration of new applications and technologies.
• Contribute to network design and implementation projects, including segmentation and security.
• Provide Level 2/3 support and participate in on‑call rotations.
• Coordinate with vendors for upgrades or troubleshooting.
• Maintain documentation and change management procedures.
• Participate in network automation and monitoring with tools like Ansible, Netbox, Auvik.
• Stay current with emerging technologies and threats.
• Train staff on network tools and best practices.

Network & Systems Administrator

Overview

The Network & Systems Administrator ensures the security, reliability, and performance of the organization’s IT infrastructure, including networks, servers, hardware, and cloud environments. This role combines hands‑on technical management with proactive problem‑solving and clear communication across technical and non‑technical teams. Key responsibilities include maintaining and optimizing systems, implementing cybersecurity measures, and supporting scalable, high‑performing operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Configure, install, and monitor network devices (firewalls, switches, load balancers, wireless access points, routers, etc ).
• Administer and maintain computer networks, servers, and related environments (hardware, software, applications).
• Monitor system and network performance and proactively identify and resolve issues to minimize downtime.
• Perform data backups, disaster recovery operations, and system upgrades (patches, hotfixes, security configurations).
• Ensure compliance with information security procedures and perform security hardening for both cloud and on‑premises infrastructure.
• Support integration of new applications and technologies.
• Contribute to network design and implementation projects, including segmentation, micro‑segmentation, and cabinet security.
• Provide technical support to service desk and end users (Level 2/3), participating in on‑call rotations and off‑ hours work.
• Coordinate with vendors and service providers for network upgrades or troubleshooting.
• Maintain accurate documentation and follow change management procedures for compliance and operational continuity.
• Participate in network automation and monitoring initiatives, including tools like Ansible, Netbox, and Auvik.
• Stay current with emerging technologies, threats, and tools.
• Train and support staff on network tools and best practices.
