Job summary

HubSpoke, Inc. in Montreal, QC, seeks an experienced Network Security Engineer transitioning into a Network Security Architect. You will design secure enterprise networks and evolve architectures to meet business needs.

The permanent role is based in Montreal with four days onsite and Friday remote, enabling collaboration across IT, cloud, and OT teams while mentoring peers. Candidates should have Secret clearance eligibility, 5+ years in network engineering, and fluency in French and English.

• Strong understanding of network security and architecture implications
• Experience with VPN, secure remote access, IDS/IPS
• Experience designing network solutions or contributing to architecture
• Fluent in French and English
• Bachelor's degree in CS/IT/Engineering or related field
• Cisco certifications assets (CCNA/CCNP)
• Cloud networking experience (Azure/AWS) is a plus
• OT environments experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Design and enhance secure enterprise network solutions, including firewalls, IDS/IPS, secure routing, VPN, zero-trust architectures, SD-WAN, cloud networking and SASE
• Assess existing and proposed network designs to identify security risks and gaps
• Recommend security enhancements, hardening measures and remediation strategies
• Support secure routing, switching, firewalls, web gateways/proxies and remote access technologies
• Identify network-based threats and develop appropriate security controls
• Provide technical expertise and guidance for network security incidents
• Work with cloud, application, cybersecurity and other technical teams to support integrated enterprise security
• Support the integration of IT infrastructure and OT environments
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to network and IT team members
• Build upon and improve established network architectures to support new projects and requirements

We are looking for an experienced Network Security Engineer who is ready to take the next step in their career and grow into a Network Security Architect role. Qualifications

• Must be eligible for or currently hold Secret level Government of Canada Security Clearance*
• 5+ years of network engineering experience, with strong technical knowledge of routing, switching, firewalls.
• Strong understanding of network security and the security implications of network architecture and configuration decisions.
• Experience with VPN, secure remote access, web gateways/proxies and IDS/IPS.
• Experience designing network solutions or contributing to network architecture.
• Fluently bilingual in French and English
• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or a related field
• Cisco and security certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, CISSP or SANS GIAC are assets.
• Experience with cloud networking, including Azure or AWS, is an asset.
• Experience with Operational Technology (OT) environments is strongly preferred.

*A Secret clearance is a federal security clearance issued by the Government of Canada that authorizes access to Secret information, assets and facilities. It is different from Reliability Status, Enhanced Reliability, provincial background checks, police checks, or private-sector screening.
